Meanwhile, living in Parma I'm picking up some of the
peculiarities of Italian organs. One of them is a very
'warm' Principal sound which is really lovely. Split
manuals are very common. Another difference is the
terminology used, like 'Decimanona' (19th) for 1 1/3',
Vigesimaseconda' (22nd) for a 1' etc. A 'Voce Humana'
refers to what would be called Celesta or Schwebung
elsewhere.
