just another possibility to consider:
back in my Windows days, i had some strange and intermittent crashes that i traced to a
poorly mounted mobo. the board itself was ok, but had not been mounted with the correct
hardware, so some portions of it were not supported properly. i checked the ABIT mounting
directions and corrected that. that solved the problems i was having.

wow, that would be wacky :) If smart says the drives are fine is that
enough to suggest the drives are fun? Should i check anything else
about the hard drives drive? Ram? easy stuff to fix? :)
