Before buying anything, I'd search teh ALSA list archives and the linux-audio-user archives for reports of success or trouble with the card you're interested in. Note that the ice1712 cards are all a little different... some work easily out-of-the-box, some have given people trouble. And some versions of ALSA have been more or less broken with these cards.
