What's the best way to kill jack in KXStudio

I'd like to attempt some video editing (tall order, I know)
No, not so tall anymore. KDEnlive 0.7.8 runs much better than its
0.6-series for me. Not entirely flawless but perfectly usable for
productive work.
but this audio
issue is killing it.
I'm assuming that after I kill JACK, I can restart it with 'pulse-jack' and
all should be well, no?
Also, does avidemux work with JACK?
I also recommend Open Movie Editor if you want perfect Jack-integration
for a videoapp. Anyway, I would prefer to use KDEnlive for film-editing,
export a video, do the Audiostuff in Ardour synced to xjadeo playing
that video or synced to OME playing it.
From my experience I suspect one of these problems:
1.) the ogv could be not very well supported and/or in a very high
resolution.
2.) you have certain effects running on the video (especially
color-correction modules gave me some trouble here...)
Both issues are related to very high system load. If there is really
something broken, we would not talk about stutter but about crashes/freezes.

Thanks for the input.
