under linux is rme. not that their gear is bad, but it sure is
expensive, and i wonder what we're going to do if they ever turn
evil...
time for those open hardware projects...

I have to agree. I tried several years with cheaper equipment, since for
me RME already is evil regarding to the costs. Anyway, I hardly
recommend to get a RME card if you are able to pay for it. I wasted too
much time using other cards.
