it doesn't. but i have to say that since i
first encountered it,
thanks to brian eno's noodlings on the cover of, hmm, can't recall,
but one of the earliest recordings on EG, i've always been struck at
what a big improvement it makes to an otherwise stereo setup.
I think that was "Discreet Music". IIRC he told to wire a third (rear)
speaker to the two "plus" poles of a stereo amp.
