OTOH, there's this tip about leaving in/out
channels set to 0 (zerO) so
let the alsa backend deliver the whole channel set as far it might be.
Hardware wise, that is.
Maybe you can make use of Qt' special value to display something like
<hardware default> instead of 0 in qjackctl?
That could clear things up for people not reading "jackd --help"...
