Hi!
About formats again. There was said use oggvorbis only (and perhaps .wav),
but not .flac, because of compatibility issues. I don't think this is an issue
at all. Because I ask: who will take part in this project? the LAUs. So they
all have linux and .flac is read by a lot of applications and can easily (even
on the console) be converted to .wav.
flac does and cannot and will not handle with 32-bit float WAV files, which is JACK's
native format and the format of all my mixes and multitrack files (i.e. jack_capture and
in ardour).
I don't advise using flac at all. I prefer wavpack, actually. Works swimmingly well
with 32-bit float WAV's.
ogg would actually be my preference for storage and bandwidth reasons. If this is just a
huge group jam, I can live with a lossy format.
