I agree that 8 and 16 GB USB 2.0 drives are the current cheap commodity items
in single unit quantities available "at retailers everywhere".

Have you been to your local dollar store lately? I have yet to buy a USB
drive there, but mouse, keyboard and USB hub are $3 each. USB sticks are
at least 1G same price or less... no shipping. (I actually think they were
4G)
