That's exactly what shows on this Debian box.
But, under UbuntuStudio I get:
Bus 003 Device 011: ID 22f0:0014 Allen & Heath ZEDi8
And as you note Qjack shows it as hw:ZEDi8
But, I get no input from it.

I'm using the ZEDi8 without issues. Shows in
QjackCtl as hw:ZEDi8
It doesn't appear to have a USB device name at all.
lsusb just lists it like this:
Bus 003 Device 011: ID 22f0:0014
USB vendor ID 22f0 is not listed in any of the databases I searched.
Seems Allen&Heath didn't want to pay to register theirs and made one up,
an the chipset they bought didn't come with one either..

I have installed a fresh Debian 10 and I have
Qjackctl installed.
Qjackctl shows the ZEDi8 (though lsusb does not see it as a ZED, I think
is does on Ubuntu...)
But, I can't seem to get the config to actually get audio from the ZED,
it appears to be using the onboard sound.
My web searches have not provided any help...
