Indeed.
However, companies sell a "sense of life".
The sense of life unintended "sold" by Linux is that it's cool to be
different. So get a dual-boot, be cool, but don't be too cool and only
boot your Windows. On work they use the professional OS, Windows, not
the freak OS.
This is a Linux user:

It's cool to know eccentric people, but it's safer to have more averaged
friends. If you want to be really cool, without being a misfit, get
iCrap. iCrap not only is cool and still not too cool, it's also very
expensive, a very good status symbol and we all know, the more
expensive, the better. Hey and the design of Apple products does fit
perfectly to my Ikea furniture and Jack Wolfskin jacket.
Fashion today is ugly :(, it does look all the same :(. I prefer when
people have charisma and when there's manifoldness from Stallman, too

I wear faked Chucks myself, but instead of getting a Jack Wolfskin
jacket as a status symbol, I would buy Italian Shoes. That's uncommon,
it's common to get a Jack Wolfskin jacket instead and hat does explain
why people prefer Windows instead of getting Linux.
