when i play a midi track, and i change the volume
levels in the midi
mixer (eg turn the guitars down so i can hear drums better) this
sometimes works temporarily (until a new section starts), and
sometimes doesn't work at all.
This sounds as if that track contains volume change events that
override the mixer's volume settings.
The controller that is supposed to be used for temporary volume
changes in a track is Expression, not Volume; try changing all CC#7
events to CC#11.
