apps.linuxaudio.org is the right place for this.
Unfortunatly this site is a Wiki
and Wikis are not the right place for a filedatabase.
Wikis are databases, smarter wiki engines are smarter databases. They
may be shaped to purpose or be more generic.
IMHO, by creating one more place you are doing harm to community instead
of helping it.
Please state what exactly you miss in
apps.linuxaudio.org
implementation. Unless there are different ("better") goals or other
human relation issues, forking the project will lead to low community
acceptance, especially when combined with up-to-date effor limited ot
for fork supporters.
I can only second that.
when implementing apps I had my doubts about not using a SQL database
for a 2nd version of
http://linux-sound.org/ - yet dokuwiki is well up
to the job with the main advantage that data is stored in TEXT files: a
format that any LAD can master with his/her favorite text-editor and
very long living.
Besides dokuwiki is joining social networks, there are plugins for DOAP,
SOAP and FOAF support available or in the making.
apps could make use some wiki-page-templates, a front-page and styling
for the wiki: the current html-templates do not support newer wiki
features eg. subscribe to changes via email and the CSS for
print-preview is broken..
linuxaudio.org can not and will not compete with
sf.net, wikipedia etc
on automated tasks for end-users.
If you require a database to index-plugins for quick search; that can be
arranged.
http://ladspavst.linuxaudio.org/ fi. uses mysql.
I have not looked at your sf-project yet, but I think LV2 will make this
superfluous: it provides RDF descriptions which can be SPARQL'ed or
whatever in the semantic web-3.0: check out
