Felipe,
If it's ISA then I think you probably have no ability to configure the
IRQ, or at least that would be my guess. Most PCI motherboards (I assume the
machine is PCI?) save the 'good' interrupts for PCI devices. If it's not a
PCI MB, well then you really tricked me!!! ;-)
Most will let you define an isa card though. Most of the config's going
to be on the linux side unless things have changed a lot in the past few
years. {or your motherboard doesn't offer the option.}
If I missed this at the early part of the thread,
then I'm sorry I might
have led you down a path that won't solve your problem. I think the real
problem here is that you are trying to use a 2003 sound stack with a 1993
sound card. Even if you get it to work, you're likely going to be unhappy
with the results.
Isa's just a massive pain and you need very exact specs regarding the
card and where it's at... I don't know why functionality would be
diminished {then again... I'm not really an expert on newer linux sound
stuff. {old for that matter}} I did get my pas16 to install in about 5
minutes on my 486/25 several years ago. OSS setup is really simple for
ISA. As far as I know there's nothing directx-like about linux.
Is there some sort of bridge from oss to alsa that can give you
additional software functionality?
