I've only skimmed this thread, but what was the problem with
QMidiRoute? I tried it last night and it worked fine for splitting a
keyboard.
My only gripe is that it displays MIDI channels as 0-15 instead of
1-16. Seems like half of the linux audio apps use 0-15, and the
others use 1-16. Not a showstopper, but kind of annoying. But that's
another story...
