I think that 512M of RAM are just too few for Ardour 3.
Just as there are lightweight window managers around,
there
are also some lightweight audio processing hosts, such as
Ecasound, which is reasonably convenient to use when managed by
Nama.
Correct. I agree 100%.
And if Ardour did not work as a simple recorder (for memory reasons),
ecasound would certainly be my choice.
The only reason I used Ardour 3 to record is *convenience*.
I mean, I am going to mix on the laptop in any case, and having
an ardour session ready with raw takes is better.
