The URL is scary, but it's just a question of adding
site:http://lists.linuxaudio.org/pipermail/linux-audio-user/
to your google search (and the syntax is probably the same or similar
for most search engines)

You should be able to use google for the most
part.
type your search term and then site:

for instance:

Hmm, not the slightest possibility for keystroke error there is there...
