Is that with a rt kernel or vanilla? Remember, you need to patch the
nvidia drivers to function with the later rt kernels.

I believe that nv is deprecated and that nouveau is now the nvidia default.
Installing the nvidia-kernel source or dkms should work although the install
post-process can be quite frightening: Any files or diversions left over from
nvidia's proprietary install or done by user will foul it (though the results
might work anyway).
Rt patches have, however, made versions of these drivers uncompilable in the
past.
