Sure it's possible. There are even prototypes people have written.
But it's not "very easy". :-)
Video players do drop or insert a frame if audio
drifts from
the video signal. Perhaps the streaming jack clients could do
a similar thing.
Dropping a video frame is almost invisible to the eye. Droping an
audio frame creates unpleasant audible clicks.
