not sure about that. does rmmod claim that its in use? does lsmod show
which other modules are using it?
I was helping my brother set up a sound card last night in a box with an
onboard intel8x0 card and we had the same problem. Can't unload
snd-intel8x0. lsmod said 1, but listed no modules. lsof /dev/snd/*
showed nothing.
