I would like to know if the Presonus Firebox audio
card (
http://www.presonus.com/firebox.html) is well supported under linux.
Is this a really good card? Do you guys have any other alternatives? I
would like the card to have a preamp on it so I can directly connect my
mic.
I can report that it works both with freebob and ffado. Of course freebob
works better with it but that is because of the state of ffado.
But it works rather well. Only the spdif-in is not working with freebob
because freebob is missing the options to sync on external clocks. But when
both freebob and ffado are installed, you can use freebob in jack to have the
low-latency and use the ffado-tools before to set the syncing to external
input (=spdif) as far as I remember.
But 8 in and 8+2 out with 3x64 (about 5-10ms latency) works reliable as
FOH-effects box...
Have fun,
