wow! That's interesting... well, I almost get around installing windows on
my desktop to make a comparison... my pure Linux box is tainted!

As I said previously that FA-101 has really high output levels.
Hopefully you can set the output level with the test program. Of course
the test program should be improved :)
I've watched this thread with some bewilderment.
I had an FA-101, earlier this year. It was great, but the output levels on
it were really LOW. Not high at all, it was actually kind of wimpy in terms
of output levels.
