see the names in square brackets? use them to tell JACK what to use:
jackd -d alsa -d hw:DSP .....
then the discovery order doesn't matter anymore.
I've struggled with this minor annoyance forever, and the solution is
so simple. thanks Paul!!! :)
Then there's my E-Mu Midi XPort 1x1. If it's plugged in when I turn the
computer on, ALSA thinks it's an AUDIO device and sets it up as the
default audio device. Can't play audio through a MIDI port! ;-)
