One more thing to mention is that UA-1G typically works just fine as long as the card is
not in "advanced" mode. AFAIK advanced mode should work with more contemporary
versions of Linux.
NB: we use UA-1Gs as the backbone for audio in L2Ork and it works just fine with Ubuntu
9.10.
