And then? If you provide the analysing tool what you
call the
"placement", then you only guess you provide what you have got in
mind. To make the sound transparent will change the impression of the
song. There is no such an order of "placing" and then adjust levels,
add compression, without readjusting what was done before, to get what
you have in mind.
Hence, a knowledge about all the tracks is needed. Additional
compression after initial placement can be added by the engineer, of
course. Again, this is just to provide a framework for the mixing
engineer work.
