No rational motivation for it was ever offered,
it looks just like an arbitraty way to reduce
functionality. Qjackctl has been working quite
nicely without it for five years or so.

restriction.
now, "Single application instance" means
that you now have an option to
turn off that dreaded x11 uniqueness restriction you pissed about.
And here you are saying that it does the _opposite_. (The switch
_disables_ the restriction.)
