I can recommend these cheap flashcams like Aiptek...I record dual-system with two of
'em and my desktop audio machine. Use a slate at the head and tail.

Wouldn't in such a case either recording from the mix desk or some
dedicated recording gear be a better option? I don't really have a lot
of experience with cameras, but I don't think that any of those are
very good for recording audio.
Zoom makes one that is supposed to do audio well. Doesn't seem the best all
around but may do audio well. You could also hook an H4 or something similar
to a camera. I wonder about the mics picking up camera noise if too close
though.
