I've been having great success with kernel 2.6.13.1 and
realtime-preempt (patch rt6).
However... When I tried to hook up my MIDI keyboard via an external
USB-MIDI device I no longer see any midi-ports.
The kernel does see the event though:

It turns out that if I unplug my USB-mouse it won't get reconnected
either, so it seems to be a general USB problem.
I didn't have USB problems with earlier kernels.
