what about the debian version of pd that you installed
via apt-get? how does that work? Are you using midi
with pd? I know that was crashing a friend's computer
a lot.

then try to compile a new version from source.
oh yeah you'll need an unstable source for apt.

Thank you, I finally get it to compile, but now when
I run it the entire
system froze horribly :(
