* The performing band consists of a typical 70s band
(drums, bass, keyboards and guitar) and orchestral instruments
(piano, brass, strings, flute, clarinet and saxophone
* The tracks are all reworks of classical pieces:
o Tschaikowsky's Piano concerto Nr.1 in b-flat
o Felix Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto Nr.1 (Opus 25 in
G-minor)
o Franz Liszt's Piano Concerto Nr.1 in e-flat
o Mozart's Piano Concerto KV 426
o Edward Grieg's Piano Concerto in a-minor
o an adaptation of a Paganini etude
* The genre is something between progrock, funk and 70s
dance music.
I hate this music, but I suspect it could be the band "Sky". I'm a fan
of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields and Sir Neville Marriner.
I can recommend Mozart's Requiem (Philips Classic Productions 1991.
Note! I hate Mozart too, but I love this recording. The Academy of St.
Martin in the Fields and Sir Neville Marriner are geniuses.)

When I was a child I bought the Sky record including Bach's Toccata and
Fuge d-Moll BWV 565 and I give it back to the record dealer. He gave me
back the money :).
I'm not sure, but at least it sounded very similar.
Hth,
Ralf
