I am using ubuntu dapper drake, kernel 2.6.15-22
for i686.
Using some rubishy Cmedia soundcard serial port.
Connected to piano with random midi cables.
Try newer kernel.
Also try it without X running (of course you'll have to use aconnect
rather than qjackctl), you might get a kernel Oops on the screen.
I shall try using aconnect, see what messages get dumped on screen.
