That seems awfully keyboard centric. Why should having C an integer
number of cycles per second be more in harmony with the universe than
having G-sharp an integer number of cycles per second? Wouldn't a
string player consider having E or A an integer number to be more
natural?
It is not related. It just so happens that the frequency C in our scale
becomes a "binary" number eg. 256Hz, 512Hz, 1024 Hz, 2048Hz, ..., when A
is 432Hz instead of 440Hz. And that did not prevent making cheesy
video game music.
