I can't agree. Inkscape is simply designed for a completely different
task. Both Inkscape and the GIMP kick asses, each one in what it's
designed for.
Inkscape is not yet competitive with the proprietary illustration
software, or even semi-proprietary apps like Xara for Linux. GIMP is
closer to being competitive with the commercial apps, but it is sure is
confusing to use!
