The goal is to make my synth box able to plug-and-play two or three diffferent audio
interfaces. Right now I have to re"wire" the Jackd connections every time I
switch audio interface, and the current plan is to eliminate that using jackd port
aliases.

whether there is a way or not, the goal is misguided. what is your actual goal?
