Are you saying if you don't run this script you don't get sound at all
but if you do, it's distorted? That makes no sense.
yeah i get the distortion if i run the script and also if i don't,
from further testing i have realised this particular script(ie Daniel
Ritz's) doesn't do anything.

Well not too sure if there is a routing problem, or
maybe a conflict
between the two cards. Is it possible to disable the onboard card? Or
maybe change the irq?
i have tried disabling the onboard card but its the same issue(ie
distortion etc). i have no idea how to change the irqs. some help on
this could be helpful i suppose, although windows has the irq assigned
the same a linux and it works perfect, but it could be worth a try as
i am willing to try anything at this stage.
So if you dont run 2 instances of pd, and try running the multiface, the
sound is distoted? Can you describe what you are hearing? Does it sound
like an over driven amp? Or is it more like a conversion distortion, ie
sounds like some weird alien kind of noise?
i think it is more like a conversion distortion, yeah like those
aliens guys, its kinda choppy and gritty.
Is it possible to hookup the multiface to a pci interface, and see if
that works?
sorry, i'm allone on this one out here..
cheers
