In theory, yes.It's a fairy tale as the tale about open file
formats. Can I open a Rosegarden file in MusE? No...
There is an agreed standard file format: SMF. If they both can read it
properly, there is no problem of exchanging SMFs.
(same applies to other applications on other OSs. You can't read a Sonar
file into Logic. But both can read/write SMF)
