How long does backing up to tape take you, if

include backing up and
verifying the data is good?
I've never timed it but it's slow. The upside is that
I start the archive and walk away, in practice, I can
get stuck thinking which is something I don't have
time for.

I should have been clear - I backed up 20GB in one hour to a 1394 drive, not
to tape. Our tape backups here in the office are about 15-18GB/night. They
appear to take about 5 hours.
