Plugins (from http://www.plugin.org.uk) are now building:

The alsaplayer-0.99.73 ebuild is now part of portage. I'm still working
on getting the others accepted.
I'll start to look at other jack enabled apps. next.
If anyone out there in user-land has experience with gentoo - how to
get the best out of it for linux audio, etc. please get in touch. I'd
like to start collecting info on a site.

Ardour currently only builds with --disable-ksi (could it be made the
default?) The updated ebuild adds support for USE="-ksi". It must
therefore be built with:
env USE="-ksi" emerge ardour-cvs-0.5-r1.ebuild
Next up are some plugins. But first i have to go to work :-(

Yeah, I'm up for this. I'm not too familiar
with making ebuilds,
but it
looks to be fairly straightforward. At the moment, I've just set up
a
hierarchy under /opt, where I manually (configure, make) compile +
install stuff. The trouble with this is that not all packages give
the
option to specify a location (--foo-lib=DIR), and assumes stuff is
installed in /usr (grrr :)
Alrighty then. I've started to ask questions on the gentoo-user
alias about
how best to deal with cvs ebuilds. Once there there are some answers
i'll
put together a webpage for the files.
I considered going down the /opt path ;-) but it just isn't the
gentoo way!
