IIRC, JACK support in Audacity is pretty new -- so it's possible that you
have a
version without JACK support.
Jack _is_ supported to some extent; there are jack devices I can record from.
However, nearly all versions of Ardour do what you
want. Ardour is a pretty
powerful program... so unfortunately it's a little harder to use than
Audacity.
Yes, it looks a bit intimidating... but sooner or later I'd have to
learn to love it anyway :-)
