Rui, then qjackctl issues these parameters in the wrong sequence (and
stores them to ~/.jackdrc in that way as well).
I don't want to create a sourceforge account in order to be able to

is there something else I could be doing to help?

/usr/bin/jackd -P89 -p512 -t2000 -dalsa -dhw:PCH -r48000 -p256 -n2
This is with QjackCtl 0.4.0, it seems to correctly set the number of
max. ports.
