I believe that alsa's drivers should not report
back absurd data. There is no
such animal as 44099.
Of course there is, and some cards can generate arbitrary word clocks
internally. It es even necessary for some applications, e.g. proper
synchronization over the net.
(In your case, this may be a bug nontheless :)
