This becomes very tempting to go through the downtime of installation.
The UG mentions that there's no pulseaudio integration/support. I do
not mind not seeing PA but, does this have any effect on regular audio
use such as firefox and youtube/soundcloud ?
Page 45 of the user manual mentions that ALSA Loopback is for such cases
incl. your specific case:
"...you are recording a song in Ardour and want to go online to watch a
video on Youtube..."
The Audio/Midi introduction on Page 41 is definitely worth reading.
