I own a Maya44USB and it works perfectly under Gentoo 2.6.13. The only
thing a had to do was modprobing snd-usb-audio.
snd-usb-audio is loaded. lsmod says:
snd_seq_midi 7008 3 snd_seq_midi_event 5952 1 snd_seq_midi
snd_seq 50512 14 snd_seq_midi,snd_seq_midi_event
snd_pcm_oss 49056 0 snd_mixer_oss 17216 3 snd_pcm_oss
snd_usb_audio 74816 3 snd_usb_lib 14592 1 snd_usb_audio
snd_rawmidi 20640 2 snd_seq_midi,snd_usb_lib
snd_seq_device 7116 3 snd_seq_midi,snd_seq,snd_rawmidi
snd_hwdep 7264 1 snd_usb_audio
Have you tried to restart alsa? There should be an
init script somewhere
in /etc/init.d/.
Yes, I did. I tried rebooting as well. I also patched my kernel
to v2.6.15.6. I have a script called /etc/rc.d/rc.alsa for ALSA control.
I use Slackware 10.2.
Can you re-plug the card and post the output of
dmesg?
Ofcourse. Here goes:
dmesg:
---
usb 1-4.3: new full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 7
HID device not claimed by input or hiddev
---
hmmm....what does this line mean:
"HID device not claimed by input or hiddev"? Looks relevant.
Also here is the output of "tail -f /var/log/messages":
---

Everything seems fine from these entries.
