Have you considered having two computers with ADAT going between them?
Then you can do 64bit on you main expensive system, and have a cheap
($500 or less before ADAT card) PC for the few bits that won't do 64
bits nicely.
I was thinking about it. But I think what takes the more "ressources" is
the plugs, which I suppose are often build for 32bits.
There is also the "over ethernet" solutions (we're using that on stage).
