Nick,
I'm a PlanetCCRMA user. Right now Port Audio is not in the RPM base
at the Planet. Fernando says he's going to do the RPM, but is waiting
for the next version. (Possibly waiting for Jack support. I'm not sure.)
I will look into building Port Audio from source, but if it doesn't
build cleanly on my RH 8.0 system, then I'll have to wait for the Planet
to support at least PA.
Cheers,
Mark

Hi,
No Port Audio doesn't use Jack yet but it will soon I think. I am
looking into how to get Jack working, and also to make a Jack driver
too.
You'll also need FLTK 1.1.3 as well.
Put libportaudio.so somewhere on your library path. It is extremely easy
to compile just make -f Makefile.linux and than copy the library to your
path.
FLTK is linked statically.
Oh the includes must be somewhere too, I put them all in /usr/include.

Hi,
Looks like my initial problem will be that I don't have PortAudio
installed, so I'll have to deal with that.
Also, do you (or Port Audio) support Jack?
Thanks,
Mark

Cool, it's still alpha, but it works for me.
I need a couple of users
who can suggest ideas and find problems (well, I know where the majority
of problems are but). It'd be cool to have a couple of friends in this
biz hehe.
If you have any problems compiling it let me know, you should be able to
./configure
make
or you can use KDevelop studio and load the project and build it. I am
not very well acquainted with Unix so I don't know yet how to make an
installer for it.

Nick,
Welcome, and thanks! I'm a user type, and always looking for new synths.
They all have their own sounds. I look forward to trying this out.
Cheers,
