has a console interface, like simple telnet only a bit more comfortable
(TAB completion etc.). My problem is: I don't have a GUI running and it
won't help me running a GUI. So can I start jsampler with the
console/telnet interface only?

But it sounds strange to me, build a java based GUI to run it as nonGUI ?
I realy dont know if it is possible with jsampler
