does anyone know how one starts a new category in wikipedia? i think
that applications list is superfluous, unmaintainable, out-of-date, and
out-of-place. the article would be better served with a new category
"Apps that support JACK" or something, and a link to the category index.

Wouldn't your articles in LJ about jack constitute a reliable secondary
source?
