unfortunately you didn't read what I said. I didn't say they
wouldn't work. I said they are not supported. Please read what you
quoted directly above.
*MANY* new users not familiar with -rt will read "not
supported" as I
can't use the closed drivers with -rt. I've seen it many, many, many
times on my support ML already.
I back that - it is important to spread word that stuff like
NVIDIA-Drivers DO work with rt-patched Kernels too if the distro-people
make them run - in Ubuntu Studio it works fine.
So support/bug reporting for the rt-patches themself is a different
manner but it needs to be spelled out correctly, that there s a major
difference between "not supported" and "does not run". 4 out of 5
newbies and 2 out of 5 experienced users cannot tell the difference at
first sight because "supported" and "working" is mixed up frequently.
Sure. we went through great pains to make sure they worked. Watch out
for DKMS. (
) It should help the use
of proprietary (or otherwise) drivers and kernels. I have to look into
it a bit still.
