   The proper way
to edit a unix file is with vi or emacs. 
 whimps!
 dont you know good ole' textutils anymore?
 touch, sed, echo: that is real men workin under UNIX 
And what about "ed". I actually remember editing source code with
this. Not very much fun :) But I was happy (I just checked) to see
that it is part of my linux distro.
