What does above "alsa" mean?
Oh, just that brutefir is using ALSA to output to the soundcard (not OSS,
etc).
If you are using jack then it would be jack outputting to alsa.... minor
nitpicking...
The bit i
cant work out is how to do the apps into a dmix and out to
brutefir.
I know i can do this with JACK, but having stereo into brutefir, and 6
chans out isnt possible.
Why?
Because as stated in the Brutefir docs, you must have the same number of
JACK inputs & outputs otherwise an error is produced.
mmm, I don't think this is true. It's possible that BruteFIR's jack
implementation requires this (jack does not), but even if you have 6 inputs
defined you don't have to use them. This should be possible to arrange in
BruteFIR's configuration no?
